The Candidate
Reporting to the Head of School, the Lower School Principal shall assist the Head of School in the successful operation and management of the CDNIS Lower School (Nursery to Grade 5). The Lower School Principal will be an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team as the team implements strategic priorities set by the Board of Governors. The Lower School Principal is the learning leader, administrative head, and ‘compass’ of the Lower School and is supported by two Vice Principals and one PYP Coordinator who together form the Lower School Pedagogical Leadership Team. The Lower School Principal is also responsible for personnel management and evaluation, teacher recruitment, and student recruitment.

Duties & Responsibilities
As the inspirational pedagogical leader for the Lower School, the Lower School Principal will:
- Sustain and develop a culture of future-ready, student-centred learning based on current research
- Oversee student wellbeing, including the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of student wellbeing programmes and practices, in collaboration with the Lower School Inclusion Team
- Lead Lower School curriculum development, alignment, implementation and evaluation in collaboration with the Pedagogical Leadership Team. Play a key role in the alignment and articulation of the Early Years - G12 curriculum
- Use data to monitor the success of Lower School programmes and oversee the monitoring of student growth
- Ensure all students’ needs are met through close collaboration with and oversight of the Lower School Inclusion Team
- Support the professional growth of teaching staff through the implementation of the CDNIS Staff Professional Growth and Appraisal process
- Lead the recruitment, selection, orientation and deployment of staff
- Collaborate with the Pedagogical Leadership Team to develop and implement a whole school approach to professional development in support of the school’s goals

Education & Work Experience
- A Bachelor's degree plus teaching qualification in elementary/early childhood education
- A higher degree at Masters or Doctorate level, preferably in educational leadership and/or principal training/certification
- At least 5 years successful senior leadership experience in an international school environment, preferably at principal level
- Senior leadership experience in the PYP preferred
- Leadership experience in a multicultural school setting
- Proven track record as an agile and collaborative team player in a highly dynamic, complex and innovative environment

Upper School Vice Principal of Student Life & Leadership

Education & Work Experience

Experiential Learning Coordinator
The Position
Canadian International School of Hong Kong is looking for a full time Experiential Learning Coordinator.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Special Projects and working closely with divisional Vice Principals, Grade Level and Trip Leaders, the Experiential Learning Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of coordination, administration and documentation for CDNIS experiential learning programmes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for bookings, documentation, folios, budgets and administration of the CDNIS whole-school Experiential Learning Programme (this involves both local and non-local experiences for the Upper School and Lower School)
- Maintain a risk management database with incident reports, records and risk assessments
- Facilitate communications on the CDNIS Experience Week website and liaise with parents, faculty, students on programme information
- Process all Experiential Learning programme service provider agreements, including onboarding
- Collaborate with the Finance Department regarding contracts, service agreements, payments, invoicing, financial folios, budgets, etc.
- Programme planning including conducting local site visits for overnight trips, collaborating with the Facilities Department to arrange programming where necessary
- Contribute to a CDNIS Experiential Learning annual report
- Other administrative tasks as required in the office

Assistant Accountant
The Position
Canadian International School of Hong Kong is looking for a School Assistant Accountant to join our Business and Operations Department.
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the assistant accountant is responsible for fixed assets management, financial analysis, external audit coordination, assistance in student billing, bank reconciliation, petty cash, cash advance, month-end and year-end processing, and other general accounting tasks and duties as assigned.
Assistant Accountant also works as a team member to ensure the compliance and timely resolution of general CDNIS requirements, as well as in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for updating fixed asset register, reconciliation of asset records, and regular stock-taking
- Prepare financial analysis including income and expenses analysis, data analysis, and other ad-hoc analysis
- Coordinate the annual external audit. Prepare working papers and required schedules for external and internal audits, facilitate the preparation of the annual report for management

Assistant Manager - Facilities
The Position
Canadian International School of Hong Kong is looking for a Assistant Manager - Facilities to join our Business and Operations Department.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Facilities, the Assistant Manager – Facilities is responsible for supervising the in-house maintenance contractor in a safe and efficient operation and maintenance at CDNIS. These maintenance functions include electrical, mechanical, fire safety, hot water and cooling HVAC systems, recycling, rubbish removal and stage / sound function set ups with AV equipment and stage furniture.
The Assistant Manager – Facilities is also responsible for assisting in the supervision of multi-disciplinary Facilities staff and external contractors involved in the operation, maintenance and security of the CDNIS; and working as a member of a team to ensure the timely resolution of general CDNIS Facilities requirements, in accordance with applicable regulations, ordinances, school policies and procedures.

A/C Maintenance Technician
The Position
Canadian International School of Hong Kong is looking for a A/C Maintenance Technician to join our Business and Operations Department.
Reporting to the Senior Technician, the Maintenance Technician is involved in the performance of a variety of semi-skilled preventive maintenance, repair, alteration and installation tasks on school buildings and equipment including electrical and plumbing services; the delivery and set up for school special events/functions; and working as a member of a team to ensure the timely resolution of general CDNIS facilities requirements in accordance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs daily check-ups on various equipment inside the plant / pump rooms to ensure the air-conditioning and water supply are working effectively
- Loads, delivers and assembles staging, backdrops, lighting, PA equipment, folding tables and chairs for the school functions
- Performs a wide range of semi-skilled testing, repair, replacement and maintenance electrical and plumbing duties including electrical troubleshoot sockets and wiring, reports defects or irregularities in wiring, switches and fuse, hot water heating, fire sprinkler systems and equipment (e.g. boiler backflow preventers; roof and perimeter drains; sewer blockages); identifies major concerns and reports to supervisor

School Bus Coordinator/Administrative Officer
The Position
Canadian International School of Hong Kong is looking for a School Bus Coordinator/Administrative Officer to join our Business and Operations Department.
Reporting to the Business Administration Manager, the School Bus Coordinator / Administrative Officer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the school bus service for over 2,000 students and 350 staff; performing as a close liaison between the School, parents and the school bus provider in keeping all the buses running safety, efficiently and effectively; and assisting in overall general office administration.
Duties & Responsibilities

Works closely with the school bus provider to coordinate / plan regular and after school bus routes to ensure optimal bus schedules and bus routes to meet the needs of the community including continuous monitoring and adjustment where needed

Liaises closely with the school bus provider regarding adjustments of routes in response to changing needs and other situations impacting transportation routes

Develops a dispatching system to ensure that bus drivers and bus assistants understand the student lists and follows student safety related policies and practices appropriately

Record, monitor and updates the bus routings to ensure the accuracy of the bus routes

Prepares and delivers the updated students lists for respective bus drivers and bus assistants for various scheduled bus departures

Be familiar with all the bus assignments and route maps for the different pick up and departure times

Lower School Student Attendance and Visitor Process Assistant
The Position
Canadian International School of Hong Kong is looking for a Lower School Student Attendance and Visitor Process Assistant to join our Business and Operations Department.
The Lower School Student Attendance and Visitor Process Assistant is primarily responsible for keeping accurate records of two major activities of the school; a) to keep track of Lower School daily student attendance/absentees, b) to work closely with the Lower School admin team and IT department to securely manage (via a Visitor Management System) the Lower School visitor flow on/off the school campus.
Duties & Responsibilities

Records, monitors, updates and ensures the accuracy of all records relevant to the two primary areas described above

Prepares and delivers attendance records and information to related individuals (teachers, ASA Coordinator, Bus Coordinator, School Nurse where necessary)

Assists in the 7th/9th-floor school day dismissal process for Lower School where assigned

Updates Veracross records to reflect late arrivals and early departures

Calls parent to verify a student's absence if there is no information provided in Veracross

Follows up with individual teachers when attendance is not recorded on time

Collaborates with the School Nurse to ensure that attendance records reflect students who are sick or are sent home during the school day

Accesses and monitors sign-in records from electronic gates as needed

IT Systems Engineer
The Position
Canadian International School of Hong Kong is looking for an IT Systems Engineer.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of IT Systems and Security, the Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting all operational requirements of the school’s network and helping manage the existing network, ensuring the overall integrity of data, security, and infrastructure in all areas of information technologies, including networking, systems, wireless networks, and telecommunications (voice and data). The position will work collaboratively with the IT Systems and Security team to uphold the tech mission of ubiquitous access to the data network for students, faculty, and staff. S/he will also need to perform other duties as required.
Duties & Responsibilities

Work with the IT Service Desk team to support the user account creation process

Deploy and manage software and systems in physical and virtualized environments

Maintain day-to-day operation of the school’s backup infrastructure and responds to requests to restore data
Hardware and Software Support
- Ensure that help desk tickets for hardware and software are resolved in a timely manner
- Responsible for administering the day-to-day operations of the campus-wide Cloud-based and internal systems which include Linux, VMware vSphere, Windows, Cloud-based systems, system backups, and integration of server systems in a team environment.
Research, Best Practices and Training
- Collaborate with the IT Systems and Security team to research, tests, and recommend tools and utilities that may improve or enhance server security, performance, server reliability, and user support. With the IT Systems and Security team, develop and/or recommend standards and improved procedures for technical initiatives and workflow, including analyzing infrastructure impacts.
Equipment Maintenance, Inventory Control, and Documentation
- Monitor and fine-tune server and SAN utilization and performance data; review and analyze data to increase infrastructure integrity and efficiency; forecast and recommend improvements based on operational reports.
- With the IT Systems and Security team, develop documents and maintain a library of all aspects of the server environment for future additions, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Manages Server Room operations
- Monitors HVAC operation
- Monitors and manages maintenance for UPS systems
- Monitors and manages maintenance for fire suppression systems
- Ensures alarms are working properly
- Provisions and de-provisions servers, firewalls, SAN, and associated network equipment

Required Qualifications & Experience
Education/Skills
- University graduate, Computer Science or Computer Engineering graduate preferable
- One or more Microsoft certifications, such as MCSA or MCSE, desired
- Certification in information security, PMP or ITIL is an advantage
- Knowledge of server and operating system technologies, particularly Windows
- Familiarity with at least one Linux operating system variant preferred
- Knowledge of SAN technologies

Experience
- At least three years of relevant system administration with experience deploying and managing software and systems in both a physical and virtualized environment or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is required

We are looking for experienced theatre technical professionals specializing in audio, lighting, projection and rigging to join our Theatre Technician Team as part time Theatre Technicians on an on-call basis. CDNIS has a state-of-the Art 5-storey performing arts complex, Leo Lee Arts Centre (LLAC), with a 604-seat professional grade theatre, blackbox theatre, dance studio, visual arts studio and music rooms galore.
The purpose of the part time Theatre Technician(s) is to create and run, to the highest standards, all the technical aspects of the LLAC Performing Arts facilities, productions, presentations, and related events. The part time Theatre Technician(s) will report to the LLAC Senior Theatre Technician. As a member of the LLAC Theatre Technician Team, you will be expected to work across disciplines including stage, lighting, audio, and projection. The part time Theatre Technician(s) also involved in the performance of a variety of operational, preventative maintenance and repair tasks on audio visual equipment. In addition, the part-time Theatre Technician(s) will be responsible for the delivery, set up and operation of all AV and projection equipment required for school events & functions in the LLAC theatre, lobby, small & large gym, Alan Dick Forum, 6th and 12th floor cafeterias, 8th floor breakout area, library and other specific venues at the school.
