A World-Class Education in the Heart of Hong Kong
Canadian International School of Hong Kong (CDNIS) has been a leader in international education since 1991 and is recognised globally as one of the most innovative and forward-thinking schools in the world. With more than 2,100 students representing over 40 nationalities, our vibrant, diverse community creates an environment where every learner is known, supported and inspired.
An IB Continuum School
CDNIS is one of only eight IB World Schools in Hong Kong authorised to deliver three of the most common International Baccalaureate programmes - the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). This continuity ensures a seamless educational journey from Nursery through Grade 12 and supports the development of inquiry-driven, globally minded learners.
Graduating students also have the opportunity to earn the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), opening doors to top universities around the world.

Innovative, Inquiry-Based Learning
Learning at CDNIS is grounded in curiosity, exploration, and deep conceptual understanding. Students inquire into meaningful, authentic questions; build knowledge and skills; make interdisciplinary connections; and take responsible action in their communities and the world. This approach fosters creativity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Our teachers are proactive, responsive and committed to creating inclusive, supportive learning environments that honour student diversity and nurture personal growth.
Bilingual Excellence
At CDNIS, our Bilingual Programme is built on the understanding that young children are naturally curious, capable and full of potential. Beginning in Nursery, students learn in a nurturing bilingual environment that immerses them in both English and Mandarin from their very first years at school. This strong linguistic foundation supports cognitive development, cultural awareness, and confidence in both languages.
The bilingual programme continues to expand one grade level each year in our Lower School and will reach Grade 5 by the 2028/2029 school year, ensuring students experience sustained, meaningful language growth throughout their foundational years.
Exceptional Student Life
Beyond academics, students thrive through a rich array of extracurricular opportunities - from Timberwolves athletics and performing arts to special interest clubs and an extensive After School Activities programme. These experiences help students discover their passions, develop leadership skills, and build lifelong friendships.
A Community Defined by Our Vision, Mission and Values
CDNIS is guided by a clear vision: to inspire excellence, cultivate character, and empower engagement locally and globally. Our mission and values shape every aspect of the school, ensuring students grow not only as scholars but also as compassionate, responsible global citizens.
Our inclusive culture celebrates diversity, fosters belonging, and encourages every individual to contribute meaningfully to our community.
A Place Where Students Flourish
Whether through academic achievement, artistic expression, athletic performance or service to others, students at CDNIS are empowered to reach their full potential. With outstanding programmes, world-class faculties and an inspiring learning environment, CDNIS is a school where young people grow, thrive and prepare to shape the future.
