ABOUT OUR PROGRAMME

Starting from the 2006/07 school year we are pleased to announce that CDNIS sports teams will play in two new international school leagues.

CDNIS staff members have taken the lead in the formation of the International Schools’ Sports Federation of Hong Kong (ISSFHK). A total of 12 international schools have committed to participate in the new league. Sports programmes will be available for students in 4 different age categories (Under 20, U16, U14 and U12). Activities include Football, Volleyball, Swimming, Cross Country, Basketball, Tennis, Golf, Touch Rugby, Track and Field, Badminton and Softball. The activities will be spread out over three different seasons and organized in such a manner that students will be able to participate in several different sports over the course of a single year.

The formation of the ISSFHK league will assist schools with the myriad of scheduling difficulties international schools often face as a result of holiday breaks and experience weeks that do not match those of local schools in Hong Kong. As we move into the ISSFHK we will gradually move out of the Hong Kong School Sports Federation (HKSSF) league.

In addition to our involvement in the new league in Hong Kong, CDNIS also participates in the South East Asia Student Activity Conference. SEASAC membership includes schools from Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Yangon and Surabaya. The purpose of the organization is to promote and co-ordinate athletic tournaments, fine arts festivals and other similar events deemed appropriate by the member schools. Each sponsored activity is offered once per year and hosted by one of the conference schools. The majority of SEASAC activities are designed for high school students only.
