Where is it?
"If we find a man of rare intellect, we should ask him what books he reads."
Ralph Waldo Emerson![]()
The School Library, equipped with a rich collection of educational materials and the latest Information Technology, is the centre of the School where students are provided with effective tools to learn/research and are challenged to become life-long learners.
The Library offers books, newspapers, periodicals, Chinese, French and International language collections as well as an extensive collection of online databases. In order to adapt to the demand for up to date information, Upper School students require access to a variety of reliable online sources. The students in the Lower School, in particular, in the primary grades, still rely on books as the best source of information for their units of inquiry. This is reflected in the spending for the different areas.
Students visit the library with their classes for lessons on developing their Information Literacy skills, locating and assessing information, organizing and presenting information and the ethical use of information. The library provides areas for students to work individually and in groups. Students in the Lower School visit the library once a week with their Homeroom classes for book exchange as well as once per week with their Chinese classes to find books to enhance their language skills. A separate primary library caters to the primary students.
Three teacher librarians and three assistants are available to help students and teachers in their use of the library.
